Help Us Rebuild After Fire & Tornado Destruction

In less than 7 months, my family has survived both a tornado and a house fire—each one tearing away parts of our home, our land, and our sense of stability.

When the tornado hit in October, it destroyed our roof, our shed, uprooted trees throughout our yard, shattered car windows, and damaged the land we’ve spent over a decade taking care of. Insurance covered just enough to patch the roof and a window. We used our savings to cover the rest—and kept moving forward.

Then, on May 8, we lost almost everything.

We woke up to our home on fire. Thankfully, my wife and daughters made it out safely, but our three cats didn’t survive. The house and nearly all of our belongings were destroyed. An insurance adjuster has told us the damage is so extensive, the home will need to be taken down to the studs.

We’re now staying in an Airbnb, trying to figure out how to move forward. We’re facing the very real possibility that insurance won’t fully cover the cost to rebuild—let alone the temporary housing we’ll likely need for the next year.

We’ve given everything we have—emotionally, financially, and physically—and we’re asking for help.
