My name is James ( The Litter Man ), and I am disabled due to a TBI, which means I can no longer drive. Instead, I use an Electric Trike to get around, and I’ve found a way to turn my daily challenges into something positive for my community. Every day, I ride out and pick up roadside litter and debris, doing my part to keep our streets and bike lanes clean.
Because I am on a fixed income, it can be difficult to afford the supplies I need to keep going. I use small grocery bags to collect trash, which are easier to manage with my cargo trike, but I need to purchase them regularly. There are also disposal fees when it’s time to get rid of the full bags, and sometimes I need new tools—like a longer grabber—to reach litter in ditches and tough spots. My dream is to someday have a pull-behind street sweeper for my trike, so I can clean the bike lanes even more effectively.
Your support would mean so much to me. Not only would it help cover the ongoing costs of bags, disposal, and supplies, but it would also ease the stress of trying to do this important work on a tight budget. I do this because I hate to see litter in our community, and it’s always uplifting when people stop to say thank you. Any help you can give will make a real difference and help me continue making our neighborhood a cleaner, better place for everyone.
