As you know, on Friday, April 26, tornadoes ripped through Nebraska and Iowa. The catastrophic storms severely damaged and completely leveled homes, destroyed personal property, and left home and business owners devastated.
James Handy's home, in the small town of Minden, IA, was not spared. His home suffered some damage, and the tornado leveled the home of James's son, Konnor, and destroyed Konnor's car. Thankfully, James and his family were not hurt. Tragically, one man died in the tornado, age 63.
40-50% of the homes in Minden suffered damage, which is half of the town's population. James was on business travel in VA when the tornado tore through the town. James is a volunteer firefighter and was more concerned that he wasn't home to help. He caught a flight out of VA as soon as he could. He is on PTO this week to help his son and the community with cleanup efforts.
The photo, courtesy of Live Storms Media, is drone footage of the aftermath. It is an unbelievable sight.
James is a colleague and friend. This GoFundMe is to show James we care. If you find it in your heart to donate, no matter the amount, I know James and his son would feel so blessed. The funds will be spent to help them recover from the damage.
They would also welcome prayers and words of support and encouragement in the comments section.
Many, many thanks! God bless!
