Help James Get to Berklee!

This year, I’ve been given an opportunity that feels both exciting and daunting: I’ve been accepted into Berklee College of Music’s graduate program at their new NYC campus in Writing and Production for Musical Theatre.

For years, I’ve been working toward this moment—developing my voice as a composer, arranger, and storyteller, and building a path toward creating meaningful work in musical theatre. This program is a huge step forward, giving me the chance to refine my craft and learn from some of the best in the industry.

At the same time, this opportunity comes with real sacrifice. In order to attend this one-year program, I’ll be moving to New York City while my wife and two daughters stay with friends in Georgia. We made this decision together because we believe in what this could mean for our future—but it also means taking on the financial strain of supporting two households for the year.

I’m doing everything I can on my end—working, planning, and cutting costs wherever possible—but the reality is that tuition and living expenses add up quickly.

That’s why I’m asking for help.

If you’re able to contribute, your support will go directly toward tuition and basic living expenses while I complete the program. And if you’re not in a position to give, simply sharing this page would mean just as much.

More than anything, this is an investment in the work I hope to create moving forward—the shows, stories, and music that I want to bring into the world. I care deeply about telling stories that connect with people, and this program is a major step toward making that a reality.

Any contribution made will go directly to funding our move across an ocean (and a continent), upgrading my computer and purchasing required music technology, housing for me while I'm in NYC, as well as airfare to visit my family in Georgia during the course of my program.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of my journey in any way.
