Help James Fight Against Cancer

Dear friends and family,
I'm here today asking for your help with James Romine’s fight against cancer. James has been a well respected senior sergeant with the HCSO for 28 years, protecting us and keeping our streets safe in the community. In addition he has served our country for 8 years in the Army. James is a loving husband to his beautiful bride of 16 years. James and Patricia have a 15 year old son together. James also has 2 grown daughters and is a proud grandpa.
I personally know James from Cy Fair hospital where he has been our security for 10 years now ensuring safety of the medical staff and patients. In 2016 James was a patient , thought maybe he had some gallbladder issues. It was this evening at work I stood beside him and the doctor as we showed him his chest X-ray, the diagnosis no patient ever wants to hear. Lung cancer . I watched this grown man in his police uniform as he realized he was now entering battle mode, the fight of his life for his life. James underwent multiple surgeries including 2 lobectomies and a digital amputation as well as enduring several rounds of chemotherapy and won his battle with cancer.
James returned to work , spent more quality time with his family and became a huge support to others facing this awful disease he had battled. I’ve seem him participating in fundraisers and events for others in need and crisis. When my daughter was diagnosed with cancer, he helped with fundraising, benefits, offered encouragement to my family and daughter as well as the peanut butter shakes that would bring a smile to her face. This was his way of paying it forward and he did so often .
Now James needs our help as he learned in recent months at a follow up appointment with his wife and teenager son the cancer has returned. Stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to the adrenal gland . James is currently at home recovering from an adrenalectomy just this week and discussing further treatment options of chemotherapy and immunotherapy with his physicians at MD Anderson. I know much too well the physical and emotional toll fighting cancer takes on a person and their family, it is overwhelming. The least we can do is ease the financial burden for this family , any amount is greatly appreciated. Any funds collected will go directly to James and his family, funds will be used to cover lost wages , medical bills, and treatments.
