On Friday evening, May 28th, 2021, James Dunigan found his Daughter-In-Law, Amber Dunigan, in her vehicle, murdered. As a (retired) police officer, James had been on quite a few scenes like this, but never imagined having to experience it with his own beloved family member. Amber is survived by her husband, Jason (James' son) and their 6 year old Grandson, Liam.
In the days since, James has taken in his son and grandson to keep the family close while dealing with this tragedy. As a result, I have watched James push his budget to the max and start to do without necessities while providing daily essentials and now funeral expenses from his own pocket. He his an honorable man who is trying to support everyone financially and pay for entirety of the funeral on his own. While it is a noble endeavor, it is a lot to handle on a retired cops pay, as you can imagine.
We are BLUE FAMILY, and that means that no one has to do it all alone. We support each other, we love each other and we stand by each other in times of need. James has spent the last year as an Admin in our L.E. Humor group. He has brought us countless memes and salty stories that have brightened our days, made us chuckle and brought joy to our hearts. I would like for us to take the time to show him that love in return.
I would like to raise $5,000 for James and his family. Specifically for his grandson, Liam, who at 6 years old, has lost his mother. A monetary donation won't bring Liams' mother back to him, but it WILL help James, who has become his temporary guardian during this uncertain time, to provide daily essentials, school supplies and maybe even some toys to this broken hearted little boy. I did not know Amber directly. But James and I had talked a lot about his family and he always spoke so fondly of Amber. When I heard of her passing, I was heartbroken. For the loss of a beautiful soul, for a son who will grow up without his mother and for my dear best friend, James, whose heart was breaking and mind was reeling from the sight of a loved ones tragic murder that will be etched into his mind forever.
