My name is James. My parents are both disabled and their health is declining. I need to make their house wheelchair accessible as well as get them a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, both wheelchairs their van got totaled and it’s very difficult for them to go to doctors appointments and such. Literally everything a person would need. I’ve started with rails inside the home, but they are unable to leave the house without lots of help, and my goal is to help with this! They are absolutely wonderful people, and I was blessed to have such great parents and would love to be able to do something nice for them. I broke my back and have severe spine damage, so I’m also disabled, but thankful I can walk and drive and do little projects for them, but not able to do enough. My father has had three failed back operations and can’t walk, my mom has severe COPD on oxygen and can’t walk without help. Thankfully she only weighs 68 lbs so it’s easier for me when I’m there but I don’t live with them. They are stranded and can’t even go to the restroom easily.
