Help James Count Fight Cancer

Donation protected
On October 4th, my heart was broken. My lifelong partner, both in life and business was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer. After what was to be a fairly routine biopsy at Phelps Memorial Hospital, in Tarrytown, NY, I received a call from the surgeon that james (Jamie) Count had a tumor removed that was the size of a coffee cup. And was cancerous. The cancer had spread to the outside of his bladder - which was news we were hoping against.

The surgeon was extremely direct with me. He said Jamie has to commit himself 100% to chemo, with the hope that the cancer can be contained back within his bladder and then perform removal of the bladder. If he shouldn’t do this, he is given less than one year. With aggressive treatment , he is looking at a 75% survival rate.

I’m not ready to say goodbye to my friend and partner.

Jamie knew something was “wrong” the last few months. But being a business owner, responsible for providing financially for himself and his employees- and committed to his clients- he put off addressing the issue; with the pretense that “I can’t afford to miss time”. He was on the phone with clients just moments before his surgery.

With Jamie receiving his diagnosis, his first thoughts were “I can’t afford this .. the business can’t afford this… I’m better off dying”. He had already put every cent he had into keeping our business afloat during the challenges of Covid .

Jamie is so loved. He has two adoring sons, James and Michael, Grandchildren Maggie, Chase and Asher. A Goddaughter (my daughter), Samantha who has not stopped crying at the thought of Uncle Jamie not being in her life daily. And a huge extended family of brothers, sisters, cousins…. We need him.

I want to see him be able to seek treatment without the fear of losing his home, business… everything. He needs to go into this battle feeling he will have something to live for.

I am literally begging for everyone’s help. Even if it is just sharing this post. 100% of all proceeds will go to Jamie’s medical bills, mortgage payments, nursing care and the like.

Today myself, his two sons and brother will be meeting with his doctors to develop a plan. I want that plan to be something he can realistically consider.

Thank you so much.
