James Calaway, a friend of Alicia’s, is facing a very aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis. James has already undergone surgery, but because of how aggressive the cancer is, his doctors want to make sure no cancer cells remain. Beginning in mid-October, James will need to travel 90 miles to the Cancer Center at OU Medical for 25 radiation treatments. This is a difficult road not only physically and emotionally, but also financially for James and his wife as they prepare for the many appointments and the demands of ongoing treatment. The funds raised will help ease the burden of medical payments, food, and repeated travel costs so James and his wife can focus on what matters most right now: his care and healing. For 44 years, James served Lawton, Oklahoma as an educator and science teacher, and over the course of that career he received many honors, including the National Teacher of the Year award. More importantly, James has given so much of himself to his family, his students, and his church. Now it is time for the community to come alongside him. If you are able, please consider donating to support James and his wife during this challenging time. Every gift, prayer, and kind word will mean so much as they walk through treatment together.
