Help James Battle Leukemia's Challenges
Donation protected
My name is James and I am in need of help. On March 25, 2025 I was diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), which is a subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) characterized by a specific genetic abnormality involving chromosomes 15 and 17. It's a rapidly progressing cancer of the blood and bone marrow where abnormal promyelocytes (a type of white blood cell) accumulate. I spent until April 23rd at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis undergoing the first round of daily chemotherapy.
The treatment schedule is very aggressive and time consuming and make it very difficult to work. I go four weeks on and four weeks off Monday-Friday chemotherapy treatments that can take anywhere from 3-8 hours depending on blood test results.
I am only able to work part time during these four weeks and during the four weeks off of it, I just feel beat down so badly that I can’t work. As a result of my diminished ability to work, bills are falling delinquent.
I am asking for whatever anyone is willing to give to help me and my family keep our heads above water. Anything given will be used to pay for prescriptions and bills until I finish the treatment regimen sometime around December.
Thank you
