Being a student at Boston Arts Academy has helped me grow and become a better person each day. My journey has been shaped by my leadership, communication, and resilience, as well as my commitment to building community and ensuring things run smoothly. My advocates and mentors—especially my parents, Jaime and James Sr., my sister Jenaya, and my second family, the Olivers—have played important roles during significant moments in my life. Their support, whether during hard times or simply by listening, has meant everything to me.

As a Graphic Design major at BAA, I’ve learned to think visually, communicate effectively, and explore issues from different perspectives. My experiences as vice president of the student body, DVC board member, and student ambassador have helped me develop leadership, organization, and budgeting skills. These roles led to being recognized at a Celtics game with the "Heroes Among Us" award for creating a pantry when food-stamp services went down in our community. I’m proud of the impact I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Now, I have the opportunity to attend Vogue Fashion School this summer. This program will allow me to further develop my creativity, leadership, and dedication to community. I’m excited to learn from others, bring back new skills and ideas, and continue making a meaningful impact wherever I go.
