Hi everyone,
This is James's sister, Jess. James is currently in the hospital at Cleveland Clinic in stable but critical condition. He has been in the hospital since September 25th, 2024, and has been through so, so much.
In November, he received the precious gift of a double lung transplant. The recovery and complications from this were tough, but James was able to get stronger and heal. He was discharged January 22nd and had 5 days of freedom. We were so hopeful he’d be able to return home to WV in the coming weeks.
On January 27th, he was re-admitted, and on February 1st, was put on life support. He was in septic shock along with pneumonia and acidosis. Things quickly went from bad to the worse we could imagine. He had to have all four limbs amputated. James is still fighting. He has an extremely long road ahead- and this is extra painful knowing how long a road he has already traveled. But we are still hopeful he will recover, heal, and get to live his life- even if that life might look different than the one we all planned.
James’s wife, Kelee, has not left his side, and remains living in Cleveland by his side.
The financial burden of this already horrendous road has been lessened with your amazing generosity, but it will be so much longer now. We are so incredibly grateful for all of your support, but I am asking again.
Please consider helping my amazing sister in law and my brother during this time. They are the strongest people I know but this is too much of a load to carry.
