Help James and John Stay Housed and Healthy

Hello! I’m James, and I’m grateful to share a bit about my journey. I’ve been fortunate to have my partner, John, by my side for nearly 18 years. At 38, I’ve always had the heart of an artist, and we’ve made a cozy home in a small town in Kentucky with our beloved dog and cat.

Recently, we faced a challenging situation. I had just started a new work-from-home job when I needed surgery for a painful condition that has made it difficult for me to work in physically demanding roles. After taking time off for recovery, I unfortunately lost my job. Now, while I’m looking for new opportunities, John has been incredibly supportive, but we’ve been navigating a tough financial stretch, living paycheck to paycheck and trying to keep things afloat.

This week, after an unexpected emergency vet visit for one of our fur-babies, we find ourselves at a breaking point, on the verge of homelessness. We need immediate funds for rent, desperately needed car maintenance for reliable transportation, and support for food and additional vet and medical bills (medication primarily). Any help would mean the world to us, and we’re immensely grateful for any donation, even if it’s just $1, it helps out!

We need around $3,000 for car maintenance, $600 for past-due rent, and the rest for food for this month, past-due utilities payments, medication, vet and medical bills.

I’ve always taken pride in my ability to support myself and others, and it’s hard to find myself in a position where I need help. As a pacifist, I believe in the goodness of people and strive to be as helpful to those around me as I can. I know that everyone has their struggles, and I’ve always tried to pay it forward whenever I’m able.

Once I’ve fully recovered, I’m hopeful to return to full-time work and regain a sense of stability in our lives. I know there are many who are facing hardships, and I’m sincerely asking for your support to help us stay housed and move toward a more stable future.
