My name is James, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself and my brother after the sudden loss of our mom last week. I went to check on her and found her unresponsive after what looked like a fall from the couch. She was 68 and had been dealing with health issues, but nothing could have prepared us for losing her this way. We are heartbroken and still trying to process everything that has happened. On top of our grief, we have been left with the unexpected responsibility of paying for her funeral and the bills she still had, because she had no funeral arrangements or life insurance in place.

Our mom lived alone, and there is so much to take care of now. She also had a cat, and I am trying to keep up with everything while caring for my two young kids, ages 3 and 5. I did as much yard work and house work for my mom as I could while she helped watch my children, so this loss has affected every part of our family’s daily life.
