Through Jairus’ Eyes: A Six-Year-Old’s Hope for His Family

“I’m scared, Mommy. Will Daddy be okay?”
These are the words of Jairus, a bright six-year-old boy who doesn’t fully understand why his family is hurting so much, but he feels the weight of it every single day. He sees his father in pain and his mother trying to hold everything together with tears she can’t always hide.
Jairus doesn’t know about medical bills, or what it means to be overwhelmed by costs just to survive. All he knows is that he wants his Daddy to be healthy and his family to be safe again.
This campaign is for Jairus’ family – and for the parents who love him with all their hearts.
Their Reality:
Jairus’ father, James, is battling serious health issues that require urgent treatment. He has hepatitis C and gallstones, and the family simply cannot afford the care he needs. His wife, Abida, is doing everything she can to keep the family afloat, working for very little income, but there is barely enough to cover food for Jairus and his siblings.
This family has been living with a constant weight on their shoulders, unsure how to move forward. Jairus can see it in his parents’ eyes, and at six years old, he feels that fear and uncertainty.

By coming together, we can show Jairus and his family that they are not alone – that there are people who care deeply enough to stand with them in this time of need.
