My name is Jamar, and I am a military veteran who has faced some incredibly tough times recently. After a painful divorce where my ex-wife was unfaithful, I lost my vehicle to repossession and found myself homeless for several months. Despite these challenges, I have worked hard to keep my job, but getting to work without a car has been a daily struggle. Relying on Uber and Lyft has become extremely expensive, making it even harder to get back on my feet.

Having my own vehicle would be life-changing. It would allow me to save money, pay my rent and utilities on time, and finally achieve the stability I’ve been working toward. With reliable transportation, I could also pursue better job opportunities and travel to work without the constant worry of expensive rideshares. As a military veteran, I am committed to staying off the streets and continuing to serve my community by helping adolescents develop healthy social and behavioral management skills—enriching our future citizens.
