Hello everyone,
My name is Jamaine Benjamin, Jr and I am from Miami, FL. I have recently been admitted to the University of the Arts (my dream school) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a student in their BFA Musical Theater program (Class of 2024). I am one of three African American students admitted in the class.
The arts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I recently graduated from Dr. Michael Krop Senior High School (Drama Magnet Program). I am so excited to embark on this new journey at UArts. Although I have received partial scholarships and grants, I am an out-of-state student, a first generation student, so of course tuition is higher than average.
My dream is to become a Tony-Award winning Actor. I want to be an example for future black boys who want to pursue the arts. I will use the funds to make my dreams and their dreams come true!
