Hello, my name is Luke Samuels and I’m raising money to help aid Jamaican’s in recovering from Hurricane Melissa.
I am Scottish/Jamaican holding both UK and Jamaican passports and citizenship. Jamaica and our peoples are very important to me and always help our island when I can, especially in this time of need.
Parts of Jamaica have been absolutely devastated and destroyed by the category 5 hurricane. There are areas that are completely ruined and unrecognisable. I had already planned to do voluntary work for Montego Bay Animal Haven months before the disaster.
I have family and friends in Jamaica who have experienced the effects of the storm. I will be going to Jamaica on 26th November until 17th (3 weeks) and I am asking for some much needed donations. As mentioned I have already used some of my own money to buy items and continuing to do so until my departure.
There are many items I want to take to Jamaica that include seeds, non perishable food items, batteries, torches, toiletries, bed linen, adult clothing, baby clothing, formula, items for animals plus much more. Please contact me for a full list of things or any ideas. All item receipts will be accounted for also.
There is also a drop off point in Edinburgh where I will take heavier items. These will be taken to Liverpool and Manchester then the Jamaican High Commission in London then flown to Jamaica.
If you can please donate anything then it will be helpful and much appreciated. Your donation will definitely make a difference those who need it most.
Thank you,
Luke Samuels
