Help Jamaica Recover from Hurricane Melissa — From Kaleb and Kareena Robinson

Hi everyone,

Our names are Kaleb and Kareena Robinson, and we are 12 years old and 10 years old, respectively. we, along with our brother Kayden, have been raised in Naples, Florida, but our roots are in Jamaica. It’s where our dad and our family are from, and it’s a place we’ve spent so much time growing up. Our dad’s business is headquartered there, and many of his employees and friends have become like family to us. Jamaica isn’t just where my family is from, it’s a big part of who we are.

Over the past week, Hurricane Melissa caused terrible damage across Jamaica. Entire neighborhoods were flooded, homes were destroyed, and many families have lost so much. Seeing what’s happened to a place and people we love so much has been really hard for us and our family.

We want to do something to help. So, we are raising funds to support relief efforts for families in Jamaica who are struggling to rebuild their lives after the hurricane. The reality is that they don’t have access to the resources we do and will not be able to recover from this unexpected devastation without outside help and support.

To ensure the help reaches where it’s needed most, we are partnering with the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) — a respected nonprofit organization that has been supporting Jamaican communities for more than 40 years. All funds raised will go directly to AFJ, which is best positioned to ensure the greatest impact for families and communities in need.

Even though we are far away, we want the people of Jamaica to know that they’re not alone — that friends, family, and supporters from Naples and beyond are standing with them.

We will also be doing a drive for clothing, food, and other supplies that will be sent from Naples to the island and will provide more information on that when we have worked out the final logistics.
