My name is Dianna Watson, and I’m based in Victoria, BC, Canada. I serve as the President of JOVICSS (Jamaican on Vancouver Island Canadian Services Society)—a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the Jamaican community on Vancouver Island.

Today, I’m reaching out on behalf of our organization and community to support families in Jamaica who have been severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Leaving behind a trail of destruction that has devastated communities, displaced families, and disrupted lives. Many homes have been destroyed, roads washed away, and access to food, clean water, and medical care has become critically limited in many areas.

As someone with deep roots in Jamaica and a strong connection to the people and culture, this cause is personal. Many of our community members have family and friends directly affected by the hurricane. We are working closely with local grassroots organizations and trusted community leaders in Jamaica to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most.

How Your Donation Will provide urgent relief to those affected by Hurricane Melissa, including:

• Emergency relief supplies: food, clean water, hygiene kits, baby supplies, and clothing

• Temporary shelter and housing support for displaced families

• Rebuilding efforts: repairing homes

• Transportation and logistics to deliver aid to remote and hard-hit areas
