Hurricane Melissa has left Jamaica in crisis, with entire communities facing devastation. Roads have collapsed, homes are flooded, and power lines are down, leaving families stranded without food, light, or communication. In my home parish of Trelawny, mothers are panicking as babies go without formula or diapers, and farmers have lost their entire harvests and livestock. One mother, Marcia from Duncans, now shelters her children under a neighbor’s awning after her roof was torn away by the storm.
As the Director of Empower Momma South Florida, I am working with The DWA Group, LLC to deliver direct relief to families like Marcia’s. Together, we rise. Every donation — big or small — helps a family rebuild, a mother restock essentials, and a community find light again. Our top priorities are providing temporary housing, food, clean water, medical supplies, and generators to restore power and safety. Every dollar raised will go directly toward recovery efforts and supply distribution through trusted community partners in West Moreland, St Elizabeth, Clarendon, Trelawny, St. Ann, Manchester, and Montego Bay.
Jamaica is currently waiving duty tax on relief shipments until December 31, 2025, making your support even more impactful right now. Give now — every day matters for families still without power, food, or safe shelter. Your gift today brings light, hope, and stability back to Jamaica. Together, we can help Jamaica rise again — stronger and united.
