Hi my name is Jaliyah Norman and I’m excited to share that I have the opportunity to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Summer Seminars—an incredible program designed to help young artists explore their passions and develop their skills. I’m reaching out in hopes that you might support me on this journey.

Since I was young, I’ve been deeply inspired by animated movies—not just because of their vibrant art styles, but because of the stories they tell. These films have always sparked my imagination, allowing me to see myself in the characters’ spontaneous adventures and learn meaningful life lessons along the way. They’ve left me with new perspectives and inspired me to create stories of my own.

Animation opened up a world of creativity for me, one where I could express ideas and emotions that words alone couldn’t capture. It’s a field that blends storytelling with visual art in a way that deeply moves people—and that’s exactly what I hope to do: create animated stories that inspire and leave a lasting impact.

Art has always been my favorite subject in school, and over time I’ve developed a growing interest in 3D animation. My ultimate goal is to pursue a professional career in this field, and attending SCAD’s Summer Seminars would be a meaningful step in that direction. Through the program, I’ll gain hands-on experience, work with mentors in the animation industry, and further develop the skills I need to tell powerful, imaginative stories.
