Help Support Jalissa With Her Cancer Burden

Donation protected
My daughter Jalissa is 36 years old.
She’s my everything and my best friend. She is married ( to my son-in-law Derrell). They have a blended family. She is such a happy and caring person. She is a great mother and wife and would do anything to ensure her family is happy. She is a very proud person but also a very private person, so for her to be ok with me creating this for her shows that she really does need the help. She is open to anything that can be able to help her in her time of need right now. She said to me she doesn’t know where else to turn to for help. So as her mom I’m here to try and find some help and encouragement for her.
As her mom it pains me to see the struggle she is going through. She is such a good person and I want her to see that there are good people who might be willing to help her like she would do for others.
Sadly Jalissa went to the hospital last summer with severe back pain that started out of no where. She was diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer. It metastasized to her spine and she was within weeks of her spine collapsing and she had no previous signs. This was devastating for her, her husband and children. She had to have 4 major surgeries within a month. and spent the summer in the hospital.
The doctors have also tried iodine treatment but she was diagnosed with non-avid iodine disease. So the iodine treatments wont work for her. She has also done radiation and that did not work as well. The doctors are trying their best with the situation but her doctors say that her diagnosis is rare.
All the factors of the cancer, her symptoms and diagnoses together are something they haven’t seen before in a situation like hers.
So treatment options are difficult and she is doing everything she can.
You would think that because she has Thyroid Cancer that the tumor would show how it got to her spine or show where it is coming from but that’s not the case. Even her thyroid wasn’t showing the doctors what they needed to know. The doctors she has are all great and are trying to do the best they can for her ….but... The doctors have been unable find out where the source of her cancer is coming from or where it even started. So the cancer in Jalissa’s body is still growing. Which is also causing more health problems.
Her doctors want her to attend another cancer facility that would be able to help her but her insurance denied the ability for her to go because it is outside of their network. So in order for her to attend she would have to pay out of pocket for everything ( travel and stay, appointments, treatments, medication and scans). If she isn’t able to pay then she will not be able to get the help and attention she deserves.

As time goes on she gets worse. She is now not able to walk or stand much or for too long. She is not able to work. Her husband is trying to take care of all her needs, and provide all support one possibly can. This has been so rough for the both of them.
Her young kids also try to help out in any way they can with the little things. I am so proud of my grandkids for wanting to help their mom and for being there for her.
With the financial burden that has been placed on them they are struggling with medical bills, home bills and personal items for the house and family. As time passes the financial burden has become greater.

At 36 years old my daughter and son-in-law don’t deserve to be going through all of this. They are good people. The worry about when/where or if help will be available for them is heart breaking.
My daughter, son-in -law and myself are so thankful that we even have the opportunity to try and take this route.
Any help is appreciated and any and all prayers are welcomed and will be cherished.
One great thing about Jalissa is that no matter all the struggles that have come her way she still has HOPE. She still prays. She still sees the good in people and is still always caring about others. She holds God in her heart and continues to have faith.

With all my love and appreciation for a moment of your time,
~CHRISTINE (mom)
