Help Jalayne and Fam with Legal Fees

Hi All!

I'm Erin Schulz, fundraising legal fees for my marvelous friend, Jalayne.

As many of you know, Jalayne courageously left her abuser several years ago. Since then, she's been dragged through a gauntlet of divorce proceedings. During this period, she's worked tirelessly to provide a safe and stable environment for both of her children, and as a result of this hard work, her oldest son is thriving in his new school and role as a big brother. During this four year divorce process, she has had to do much of the legal work of filing documents and representing herself while her abuser retains a lawyer. 

Jalayne's abuser has formally indicated that he's going to apply for full custody of their son, which absolutely cannot be allowed to happen. This wonderful, goofy, sweet child has been working hard to grow now that he's in a safe and supportive environment, and he has made so much progress. (He's been a star student so many days in his classroom, he's a great reader, and he makes an awesome pen pal if you're looking for one!) Removing the safe structures and routines of Jalayne's household and putting him into the environment he experiences during visitations would be harmful to his well-being. During short visits to his biological father, Jalayne's child experiences neglect and is exposed to danger and inappropriate content.

Everyone who knows Jalayne and her little family knows how wonderful they are together. We know how hard they've worked to make something good grow out of some very hard things. We know that she deserves to be completely divorced and free of her abuser. We know that her kiddo deserves a safe home.
