My daughter Jakiyah is 13 year old quadriplegic who faced a lot of challenges in her life. Please help brighten up this loving child’s She faces daily challenges due to her disability. She loves listening to music, watching Peppa Pig on her iPad, and her favorite color is red. Every day, we work hard to make sure she feels included and comfortable, but transportation has become a major hurdle for us. Each time Jakiyah is transferred from her wheelchair to the car seat, it’s not only difficult but can also be painful for her. Yesterday, her brother tried to comfort her, telling her she’d be out of the car soon, but Jakiyah started to cry. It’s heartbreaking not knowing exactly what she’s experiencing, and as a parent, I just want to ease her pain and give her the comfort she deserves.
We’ve faced many setbacks trying to secure a wheelchair-accessible van. An agency that had promised a large donation recanted, and when I asked a family member to co-sign for a loan, I was let down again. As a single parent, I’ve tried every avenue, even spending hours at the dealership hoping for a solution. The reality is, what they offered was far beyond my budget. That’s why I’m turning to this community for help—sometimes it’s the little things that matter most, and right now, improving Jakiyah’s quality of life means everything to us.
A wheelchair-accessible van would not only make transportation safer and more comfortable for Jakiyah, but it would also support her daily needs. It would help us get to appointments, school, and enjoy outings together as a family. All I ask is if you find it in your kind hearts to please help us. We are finally at the finish line, and your support would mean the world to Jakiyah and our family. Thank you for reading our story and considering a donation to help us give Jakiyah the comfort and dignity she deserves.
