Help Jakes legal fees

Hey all,

I’m not really too sure how to go about this, but I’m sharing this today in hopes to eliminate some pressure for my brother Jake at the moment.

As most probably know, a year ago our incredible Mum passed away suddenly. It left Jake and I incredibly shattered.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of the difficult period for us, Jake especially.

Jake lost his Mum and one of his best mates Dave all last year. All while working full time to pay off a new house him and his partner purchased, and supporting two kids and his partner on a single income. Jake does extremely physically demanding work and late last year he slipped a disk in his spine over Christmas.

While this has been happening, he was also dealing with his former partner and her family, who have always been incredibly judgmental and unsupportive throughout everything Jake was going through.

The issues in their relationship escalated to the point where Jake felt like he had no choice but to make the hard decision to separate from his partner a bit over a month ago, in the hope that a separation would result in a happier environment for himself, his ex, and his two kids.

Since then, however, Jakes former partner and her mother have made it their mission it seems to make Jakes life as difficult as possible.

As of today they have stopped Jake from seeing his kids

They have treated and painted Jake like he is an abusive person and father, doing this by only telling very small parts of a much larger story to anyone who will listen. If you know Jake, you know this is absolutely not true. Jakes spent the last year working hard on himself - He loves his kids more then anything in the world and all he wants is to be able to share custody with Nicole so he can be a part of their lives and he can move on and rebuild his life.

Jake and I both have extremely limited resources and at the moment, navigating this without the support of our parents makes things even harder unfortunately, and Jake is struggling to afford the legal fees for a lawyer to fight to see his kids.

It’s an insanely tough situation and why I’m writing the post today.

I’ve started a GoFundMe page to help Jake cover some of his legal fees. I know this is a big ask but anything at all you can contribute would actually mean so much right now.

Jake is working full time to support himself and pay for anything his kids need, while trying to save money to restart his life.
