Help Jake replace stolen gear from home burglary
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jake and I am reaching out to ask for financial help in replacing some musical instruments and sound gear that were stolen from my house on January 13th. Fortunately no one was home at the time of the burglary which happened in the middle of the day, but they did have enough time to steal many important and expensive items from me and my roommates valuing thousands of dollars. These items included five synthesizers, my Macbook Pro, camera, MIDI controller, audio interface, Zoom field recorder, two lavalier wireless mic sets, 4k TV, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, and some other electronics that I use for freelance audio work. Luckily we were able to track down a couple of the synthesizers and the MIDI controller through the help of a hidden AirTag (thanks Lee!) which led us to recovering those three items from a pawn shop. However those are the only items we were able to recover so far and we still have no leads on where the rest of our stuff is.
I do have renter's insurance and they were able to partially compensate me after I made a claim, but due to some technicalities I was only able to get back roughly half of the estimated value of my loss, and that is why I decided to start a GoFundMe in an attempt to hopefully raise enough money to at least replace the items I need to continue work as a musician and freelance sound engineer. It's never easy for me to ask people for help but this past month has been especially hard since the burglary and having to replace my equipment out-of-pocket has been a constant source of financial stress for me. I certainly don't expect to reach the full amount that I need to replace all my stuff but if you have even a little bit to spare it would truly help me get back to making music and creating new projects! Thank you for reading and I very much appreciate you sharing and donating if you are able to. :)
