In the early morning hours, a pounding on the door wakes the house from sleep and delivers the news that turns a family’s world upside down. All we’re told is there has been an incident, Jake has suffered a severe head injury, and he’s on the way to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in New Hampshire.
On July 20th, a series of events resulted in a brutal and senseless attack. Never in our lives did we imagine that a dispute over an iPad, a small and invaluable item, would have such a devastating effect on a beloved person. In one life-changing instant, he received a blow to the head with an object with such force that it fractured his skull. After being flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock and undergoing emergency brain surgery, he remains hospitalized, unconscious, and fighting for his life.
His injuries are extensive, and the reality we face is harrowing. We don’t yet know the extent of his injuries or what his future holds. What we do know is that Jake’s road to recovery will be incredibly long and uncertain, and he cannot walk this journey alone. He and his wife, Miranda, need our support.
As many know, Jake ran his own business, where he and Miranda worked side by side. It was their only source of income. Now that Jake remains in a critical condition, their livelihood is on hold. With no income, mounting medical bills, and the daily cost of living, their situation is dire.
We’re asking for help to get them through this; for Jake to focus on healing, and for his wife to remain by his side without the constant fear of worrying about how they’ll afford tomorrow.
Our heartfelt plea for donations will help cover medical expenses, household bills, and basic living costs as they strive to forge a new path, while offering a lifeline to a couple facing unimaginable hardship.
If you feel moved to contribute, please know that all donations, of any amount, bring Jake and Miranda one step closer to healing and stability. If you can’t donate, but would like to help, please consider sharing with others.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your willingness to stand by our family during this time of need.
