Help Jake in his Fight Against Glioblastoma

I would love to tell you all about my amazing cousin Jacob Franco, aka Jake! He is smart and hardworking, and is currently working as a land development manager for Shea Homes. He is a father, husband, friend, son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew. He can always be counted on for a good laugh and a good time. He’s encouraging, naturally happy and good natured. Jake is always a phone call away. Most importantly, he is an amazing husband to Angel and fantastic father to little Jacob– his five year old son. He loves his family dearly and protects and provides for them. He takes that role very seriously and nothing comes before his son and wife. Jake is the kind of man who was always meant to be a dad. He loves coaching his son’s baseball and football teams. Together they enjoy swimming, bike riding, camping, fishing, and definitely wrestling in the living room. He is involved in everything little Jacob wants to do.

In early June, Jake was hospitalized after suddenly suffering a seizure. We learned that night what no one wants to hear - Jake has a brain tumor. In the week that followed, he was in the ICU and underwent a craniotomy to remove the mass. We learned after the biopsy that the diagnosis was Glioblastoma: a terrible brain cancer. The news has been devastating to Jake, his family, and loved ones. We of course remain hopeful and positive, but the reality is that Jake, Angel and little Jacob need our support. There is going to be chemotherapy, radiation, trips to see doctors and specialists, special assistance at home…not to mention the bucket list things Angel and little Jacob want to experience with Jake. Jake and Angel will not be able to work during this time and will need help with necessities, insurance and medical bills. We started this go-fund-me (with Jake and Angel’s permission) to lighten their financial burden so they can focus on what really matters right now - spending as much quality time with each other as possible.
