Help Jake fund his root canal

Hello! 

I’m Jake. I’m 26, I live in the USA, and I’m trying to raise $2000 for a root canal and dental  crown.

Yesterday I discovered that I needed a root canal on a molar. Because of some complications (the root system has calcified), the root canal needs to be done by a specialist. As well, because the procedure would be done on a molar, Medicaid won’t cover it. After talking to the specialist, the cost for the root canal is a whopping $1700. Following the root canal, I will need a crown - another procedure not covered by Medicaid, and another $815. 

I have a small amount of savings and am looking at selling some things around my house to try and make this work, but it seems insurmountable. I hate to have to do this, but now I’m turning to you, anonymous reader.
