Help Jake Find Stability – A Safe Place to Rest and Rebuild

Hi everyone,

My name is Sylwia, and I’m starting this fundraiser for Jake—a kind and humble man who is currently experiencing homelessness in our community—and his 10-year-old dog, Train!

I see Jake regularly near Whole Foods in Schaumburg and recently had the chance to speak with him. He shared that each day, he tries to raise enough money to stay at a nearby motel, just to have a safe place to sleep, shower, and get off the streets for the night. It’s a temporary solution, but one that gives him a bit of dignity and rest in an otherwise exhausting and uncertain situation.

What really struck me about Jake—and what inspired me to do this—is something I witnessed a few months ago. I saw him step in and pay for a woman’s purchase when her card was declined. Despite having so little himself, he didn’t hesitate to help someone else. That simple act of generosity stayed with me.

Jake has given me his full permission to share his story and start this GoFundMe in hopes of getting him a little breathing room—and maybe even a fresh start.
