Help Jake Bounce Back from Apartment Fire

Hi everyone! As some of you may know, our bestie Jake lost all of his furniture and many of his personal possessions in an apartment fire on the evening of February 22, 2023. Unfortunately, Jake did not have renter's insurance at the time, but was luckily unharmed and is now in the process of assessing the damage and making a plan to move forward. The fire was largely contained to Jake's bedroom, with smoke damage extending throughout the apartment. The apartment management has deemed the tenants responsible for the damage.

Items Jake lost include his mattress, bedding, air conditioner, dresser, bookshelf, a substantial collection of books, his television, lamps, shoes, winter boots, winter coat, clothing, personal care items, rugs, and art and mementos. His cell phone was also damaged in the fire, and he's been forced to take time out of work, meaning loss of income, as well.

Jake has been back in NYC since June of 2022 and is working as an assistant at Jenny Perry Hair, with the goal of becoming a hair colorist. He could use our help restoring and refurnishing his room to the point where it's livable so that he can stay focused on his goals--and stay in NYC! He is so grateful for everyone's continuous support. Donations to this GoFundMe will go directly to restoring Jake's room and replacing some basic necessities.
