Help Jake and Nate catch up on the mortgage
Donazione protetta
Hi, I’m Jake.
Me and my spouse Nate have been homeowners for about 4 years now, and we’ve done pretty ok keeping up with mortgage payments. However we’ve unfortunately slipped recently to the point we need some help. We’ve had to go onto a payment plan to catch up, which is good we have the option but it means we’ve had to pay an extra $700 each month to do so, and while it’s not impossible, we’re feeling the squeeze. It’s been really hard on Nate, they make less than I do so they’ve already been struggling. Their artist alley tabling hasn’t been bringing in as much as they’ve hoped, and losing their grandmother this last summer made things worse. She would always do the grandparent thing where she’d give you money, but neither of us realized how much of a difference it actually made until she was gone. Nate’s grief cause them to fall behind in bills and with myself not getting as much overtime at work, I’m not able to help as much as I’d like to.
We only have to play catch-up with the mortgage until the end of September, but it feels so far away and Nate and I have collectively had one too many breakdowns over finances that I want to reach out for help. We’re about $2000 behind and anything at all would be helpful. I want to try and take pressure off of Nate (and also myself) and give them a second to breathe. So yeah, anything helps, and is appreciated greatly.
Also, friends who know Nate: don’t tell them. I think it’s better to just appear and say “Hey I have a solution” instead of them knowing and stressing about it.
