Hello! My name is Jaineen Smith, I am a senior at Wilmington College, majoring in Education Studies. I will be a first generation college graduate this May to pursue my career as a daycare teacher.

At WC, I have been very involved in my three years here, such as being in the Scholars of promise program, Mentor program, President of BSI ( black student initiative), Greek life, track and field, Student supplemental instructor, vice president for the DubC FirstGen organization, & a peer navigator (welcoming first year college students).

I also currently have a 3.5 GPA and while it was a struggle to get to this point I can’t give up and I won’t, but I do need some financial assistance.

During my time in my Undergraduate Studies I have tried to keep up with the cost of my education but ultimately my Financial Aid, scholarships, and my working income does not cover the balance that I have.

If I do not submit a payment of $5,400 before May, I risk not receiving my degree or transcript.
