Hi everyone,
My dad, if you haven’t had the opportunity to meet him, is Jaime Coker: co-business owner of Jaime Coker Creations LLC.
Both my mom and dad use their artistic talents to create some truly amazing artwork, which they have been fortunate enough to sell at many events and Comic Cons across the United States.
Late September, my dad received a pretty serious gash on his leg while loading out at a Comic Con show. The next day, he became extremely sick. My mom took my dad to visit their primary doctor who prescribed antibiotics and a timed regiment of over the counter meds. He was not showing signs of improvement and suddenly became completely unable to function.
Early October, my dad was rushed to the emergency room after they realized his wound began to develop into an infection. Since then he has been hospitalized with a flood of antibiotics, meds, lab testing, etc. Currently, the doctors cannot commit to a release date for him. His injury is much more serious than we expected and has also progressed into a blood infection.
Because of my dad’s current situation of being hospitalized, my parents have been forced to cancel several events and Comic Cons, one of which being the New York Comic Con. My mom and I gave our best efforts to keep their show event commitments, but due to the uncertainty of my dad's current medical condition and needing around the clock care, it has been extremely difficult. It is undetermined when he will be released from the hospital and be able to be back on the road again.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my parents during my dad’s recovery time. My mom and dad’s primary source of income is selling their artwork at these events and Comic Cons. We aren’t sure how long it will be until my dad fully recovers, so until then my parents have no source of income.
