Jaime, my spouse, has been bravely facing stage IV cholangea carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. When we first received the diagnosis, we were told that Jaime might not make it past May 2026. Despite the prognosis, Jaime remains stable and continues to inspire everyone around with resilience and hope. Through all the challenges, Jaime has kept a short but meaningful bucket list—two experiences he dreams of fulfilling before his journey with cancer comes to an end.
The first wish on Jaime’s list is to visit the new Epic Universal Park in Orlando. While he has enjoyed Disney and Universal Parks in the past, this new park offers adventures he’s never experienced and has been eagerly anticipating. The second wish is a heartfelt road trip: starting with the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, then on to Washington DC—a city Jaime has never visited. On the way back, he hopes to see Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpiece in Pennsylvania, and explore the Amish Country of Holmes County, Ohio, inspired by our shared passion for quiltmaking. These trips are not extravagant, but they are deeply meaningful to us, and the memories we create will last a lifetime.
The funds raised will help cover the costs of travel, moderate accommodations (including a special two-day stay at a Universal Hotel), tickets, food, and other incidentals. Many friends and family have sent their love and prayers, often asking if there’s anything they can do. While insurance has helped with medical expenses, making these trips possible is beyond our current means. If we can make this journey, it will be a beautiful final adventure for Jaime and a cherished memory for me. We are humbled to ask for help, but we know that with the support of our community, we can make Jaime’s dreams a reality. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the stress and allow us to focus on making the most of this precious time together. Thank you for considering being part of this journey with us.
