Please can you help Jaime finally beat cancer

Donation protected
Jaime has been battling cancer for the past 6 years after being diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer a few months after Archie was born. After receiving outstanding care from the Oncology team at Milton Keynes hospital, she has now exhausted the treatments available to her on the NHS in the UK. We want to raise £43,000 to pursue treatment at a specialist facility in Mexico and give Jaime the best possible chance at winning her battle.

Jaime is a kind, generous and strong woman, always has time for others and is a devoted mother to 3 boys. Connor (27, soon to be married to the wonderful Liv!), Brodey (14, a gifted footballer with exams coming up) and Archie (5, she calls him her ray of sunshine).

Jaime is exactly the sort of person who doesn't deserve what she has had to go through. I can say it has been relentless and exhausting. She has followed all of the paths set out by conventional medicine, going through 3 lengthly life changing surgeries, several rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and SABR.

Despite the treatment showing signs of success, Jaime's cancer has returned twice and continues to grow BUT it has not (at the moment, fingers crossed) spread anywhere else within her body, which after this amount of time, is a ray of hope that we hold onto. This could be, in part, down to the radical change in diet and lifestyle that Jaime put in place as soon as she was diagnosed.

She is determined not to give in to this disease.

Jaime has spent so much of her time helping others throughout her life. Nursing her beloved nanny Irene through her decline with Parkinsons; supporting her much loved Dad through his battle with bowel cancer which sadly he lost aged 63. Alongside her career in music (which she adored) Jaime worked for charities counselling vulnerable adults; and even now when in chronic pain caused by her tumour she continues to help her closest family and friends in any way that she can.

Jaime has done her bit in the big fight against cancer too, being part of two charity balls that raised thousands of pounds which was donated directly to Cancer Research UK, spearheaded by Liv, Jaime's (soon-to-be) daughter-in-law.

Though the cancer has not spread, the location of Jaime's tumour means surgery is not an option - the tumour is pressing on nerve roots at the base of her spine. The affected nerves control her entire left leg right from her hip to her toes. The pressure from the tumour on these nerves causes tremendous, unrelenting pain that has greatly affected her mobility and quality of life.

So, the tumour cannot be taken out surgically and it cannot be taken out using any form of radiotherapy either because Jaime has now received the maximum dose to that part of her body. Any more could break down the healthy tissue around the tumour - which is far too dangerous. Apart from management of her symptoms they have said there is nothing more they can do to save her!

We're not prepared to accept that this is it.... It may be all the NHS is able to offer, but it is not all that can be done globally or outside the conventional medical routes.

Jaime has spent a lot of time researching alternative therapies that focus on putting the body in a state where it can fight the cancer instead of relying on harmful pharmaceuticals to attack the tumour directly. We've done and continue to do as much as we can as a family to research and apply alternative treatment but now - before it's too late - we need to accelerate and expand her treatment options by accessing specialist clinics.

This is where YOU can help...

We want to raise £43,000 to send her to Mexico to be treated with a battery of cutting edge alternative treatments that are not yet available through mainstream medical facilities in this country. We want to kill off this cancer once and for all. The facility has a proven track record of eliminating all evidence of cancer and improving the lives of the patients it treats.

Overseen by a mix of specialist doctors, oncologists and natural therapists, the clinic has provided us with a treatment plan that will put her body into a state that the cancer will struggle to survive in. It is a full 7 hours a day 6 days a week intensive treatment plan over the course of 3 weeks as an in-patient. Follow-up treatment continues at home for another 9 months. Aside from the physical therapies, the facility also looks to heal the emotional and mental trauma that is caused by the ordeal its patients have had to endure.

Being sent to this facility will give her a fighting chance to be well and here for her boys. We all love her endlessly and want to see her come through this. Just to see her free of pain would mean everything to us.

Jaime has said if she is lucky enough to raise this money and get the chance to beat this then she will document her journey and you can follow her all the way.

Please help however you can. Jaime's family and I are eternally grateful for whatever you are able to donate. If you can't donate, we would really appreciate it if you could share the link now while it's fresh in mind... time really is of the essence.

Thank you for taking the time to read Jaime's story
