First, thank you all for taking the time to visit our GoFundMe. Never in a million years
did we think we would be asking for help, but we are looking to help my dad, Jaime. My
dad was diagnosed in Oct 2012 with Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer). He was
cancer free but in December 2021 his cancer returned, and he was diagnosed as stage
4. Since then, my dad has never stopped working. He is the hardest working man I
know, getting up daily in pain and still providing for his family. He is a hands-on dad
with all of us, especially my younger sisters who are in high school and play multiple
sports. He never misses a game regardless of how he is feeling and is always the
loudest in the stands! He always puts on a brave face for us and all his grand babies.
My stepmom was laid off from her job with Kaiser and yet to find a typical job. She has
dedicated herself to my dad and is his right hand; driving him to work when he can’t
drive himself, taking him to all his doctor’s appointments and still maintaining the
household
His latest scans in Sept 2025 have shown small growth and a new area of metastasis.
His Drs recommended he go out on disability to give his body some rest. If you know
my dad, this was extremely hard for him to expect. Asking for help is the last thing they
wanted to do which is why over the last 4 years my parents have exhausted their
lifetime savings, retirement and credit cards on his holistic treatments and supplements.
Over the last year my dad has unfortunately stopped all his holistic treatments/
therapies and during this time is when we have seen the progression of the disease. We
want to be able to go more aggressive with holistic intervention to support his healing.
My parents also changed insurance because of the lay off and will be facing more out-
of-pocket expenses than they did with their previous coverage.
I could write a book about my dad but the one thing I want everyone to know is he was
once a single dad and from day one has been the best hands-on father, never missing a
performance at school, sports events or anything important in our lives. His family along
with his faith is what matters most to him. My siblings and I are so blessed, and he is
the BEST Papa to his 9 grandbabies who light up his world!
