On July 17th Jaime was crossing the street near 12th and Irvington when he was struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Unfortunately, the driver fled the scene without checking on Jaime's condition, leaving him alone to die. More than likely, this would have been the outcome if it were not for a bystander who witnessed the accident and immediately called for help.
Jaime was rushed to Banner University Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.
After performing several tests, the doctors discovered that he suffered from severe head trauma, fractured ribs, bruised lungs, and a broken leg. An MRI further revealed that he had severe swelling in his brain. Unfortunately, it also revealed life-altering damage, meaning Jaime will never be the same.
Currently, Jaime is unresponsive and connected to a ventilator fighting for his life. Doctors say that there is a possibility that he never regains consciousness or that he can pass away at any moment.

El 17 de Julio, mi hermano Jaime cruzaba la calle cerca de la 12 avenida y Irvington aqui en Tucson, AZ, cuando fue atropellado por un carro conduciendo a alta velocidad. Desafortunadamente, el conductor del carro no se detuvo y se fue de la escena del accidente. Gracias a dios habia un testigo que hablo al numero de emergencias inmediatamente cuando occurio el accidente.
Jaime fue transportado al Banner University Medical Center en graves condiciones.
Después de realizar varias pruebas, los médicos descubrieron que sufría un traumatismo craneal severo, costillas fracturadas, pulmones magullados y una pierna rota. Una resonancia magnética reveló además que tenía una inflamación severa en el cerebro. Desafortunadamente, también reveló daños que le cambiaron la vida, lo que significa que Jaime nunca volverá a ser el mismo.
Actualmente, Jaime no responde y está conectado a un ventilador luchando por su vida. Los médicos dicen que existe la posibilidad de que nunca recupere la conciencia o que fallezca en cualquier momento.
