On Thursday August 19th, 19-yr old Jailaiyah Rouse and her friend were sitting in their car when a gunman came up to their window and started firing. 18 rounds were fired. Jailaiyah was spending her last night in Omaha with friends before moving back down to Lincoln to start her sophomore year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was receiving a full-ride scholarship.

Jailaiyah and her friend survived their injuries. Jailaiyah was shot more than 5 times in the stomach, arm, and leg.

I am a friend of the family asking for donations to help pay for medical bills, physical therapy, and relocation as the shooting happened just a block away from their home in North Omaha. Jailaiyah and her family should not have to go back to the place that the incident happened and be constantly reminded of that traumatic night as well as deal with the burden of medical bills during this devastating time.
