Hello — I’m Jahnavi (Jan Robinson). I’m stepping into a new chapter of my life: moving to the Mount Madonna yoga community in the Santa Cruz mountains, where I’ll exchange humble work for safe, supportive community living, time in nature, and nourishing vegetarian meals. Why I need help now

I brought my Corolla into a garage this week and learned the transmission needs servicing and the solenoid needs replacing. The estimate is $1,000 for parts and labor. Without this repair, the car loses power and may not make it safely up the mountain roads to Mount Madonna.

If I can raise $500 more in the next day, I can move forward with the repair.

Longer term, my car also needs overdue maintenance (oil, brakes, safety checks) and some body repair to hold up in the wet mountain climate. I’ve made the decision not to focus right now on outstanding bridge tolls and parking fines, as I simply don’t have the resources. My priority is just keeping my car safe and running so I can begin this new chapter.

About my situation

This move to Mount Madonna represents a doorway into stability, healing, and community after a very difficult few years. I lost my housing in May and have been staying temporarily with my cousin. Three years ago, a relationship catalyzed a profound spiritual awakening, but in its wake, I lost my health, home, income, and stability. I’ve been healing from trauma and CPTSD, focusing on restoring my nervous system and peace of mind.

Because of this, I currently have no income, savings, or credit card. At Mount Madonna, I’ll be participating in a karma yoga program (a no-money-exchange program of service), which means I won’t be able to work a second job or generate income right away. This is why I need help covering car expenses now, before I move.

How funds will be used

Urgent transmission repair (quoted at $1,000)

Basic overdue maintenance (oil, brakes, safety checks)

Body repairs/weatherproofing (so the car is safe in the mountains)

Total goal: $5,000, though even small amounts raised now will go directly to the immediate $1,000 repair.
