My name is Jahim, and I’m about to begin a new chapter as a member of the very first Physician Assistant cohort at North Carolina A&T. Becoming a PA has been a dream I’ve worked tirelessly toward for years. With six years of medical experience and a background as a former student athlete at the University of Florida, I’m ready to take this next step—not just for myself, but for my six-year-old daughter, Nia. As a first-generation student, I know the value of hard work and perseverance, and I’m determined to set an example for her and others in my community.


This journey comes with big sacrifices. Nia will be living in Texas while I attend PA school in North Carolina for the next 2.5 years. I’ll only be able to see her during school breaks, but I’m making this sacrifice so I can build a better future for both of us. The move is happening this weekend, and classes start October 14th, so I’m reaching out for support to help cover travel costs, moving expenses, and initial housing as I transition into this new role.
