Help Jaelyn with heart transplant expenses
Donation protected
This is Jaelyn Rittmiller and she was born with a genetic heart disease.
Living in Missouri with her family, they decided she should see the cardiac specialists at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn.
Due to her left ventricle muscle being extremely thick (7 times larger than normal), on September 23, 2021 she underwent surgery, having a Myectomy and defibrillator implant. The plan was a 5 day stay at the hospital and then home.
She was in ICU for 5 weeks, her heart was just not responding to the medications being administered. It was then that the doctors started discussing a heart transplant.
On October 25th due to insurance issues, Jaelyn was flown home to Kansas City to Children’s Mercy. Jaelyn was put on the heart transplant list after 3 days of evaluations.
November 8th Jaelyn was released from the hospital, her mom Crystal has left her job in order to care for “J” and her medical needs. She has weekly visits from an at home nurse, and clinics at the hospital.
The average wait time on receiving a heart is 8-12 months.
Please help Jaelyn, who has been an absolute trooper, and her family during this very difficult time.
