Help Jae Williams Reward a Hardworking Youth

You all know me, Jae (Jodie) Williams. I have been advocating for aged out foster youth for close to 20 years. Many sweet scared faces have come and gone in and out of my experience relieved with the help we have been able to provide from all the amazing people who have supported our efforts. Sometimes there is one that is beyond special. About 3 or 4 years ago, after I had retired from my non profit, Heart 2 Heart Solano Youth Services, I ran into one of our former youth and they were not in a good place. I went to my car and cried like I have NEVER cried before... I truly believe it was God's heart breaking for this lost youth who had no family and no hope and no resources. It was an extremely HARD journey, it was ugly at times, scary most of the time, hopeless most days and yet, this youth and I did not give not. We had the support of all my wonderful friends who showed us that they cared and this youth PUSHED through things I don't think any of us could have when all she had was some strangers who helped. Homelessness was at the door every second, scary neighborhoods to rent in, money we did not have, broken down cars, clothing, food, hope and I am soooo proud to say she has taken the help and have been living completely STABLE and PRODUCTIVELY working full time and going to school and raising her child. This semester ended and she just earned an A in English and a B in Chemistry!!!! Every single year she mentions she tries like heck to save enough money to go to Disneyland but every year, she simply does not make enough to do it. This year, I want to reward her for all all hard work as she continues with summer school towards a nursing degree... one more year before transfering to a 4 year with such excellent grades all done on their lunch hour! I know times are rough, but if you can at all, I am trying to raise enough money to give her and her son a proper vacation with no worries. To go to Disneyland is out of touch and I would like to try my hardest to make it a reality. Foster care and being alone in the world is hard enough, they have fought, struggled and pushed through the hardest times I have seen for a person and it is time to reward all that dedication. If you can, I am asking for any donation, even $10 would help... and more importantly, please share the story and ask a friend or relative. We need every single buck we can get our hands on. If we don't raise enough money for Disneyland, I will find a smaller vacation like maybe a weekend to the beach or something. Please help me make this sweet young person's dream come true.
