“Hi everyone — I’m stepping in to share this on behalf of Jae, someone who has been part of our family through foster care and remains very, very important to us, especially considering Jae has very little in the way of biological family support - Jae was fully orphaned a few years back.

Jae is currently under the care of both a therapist and a psychiatric provider. Based on their professional assessments, he is not able to maintain employment at this time due to severe anxiety, rapid mood cycling, and episodes of psychosis.

Right now, the biggest challenge is timing. Jae has been advised to apply for disability and additional support services, but due to his current mental state, he is not able to manage the application process on his own. His care team is working to get a case manager in place to help navigate these next steps, but that support is not yet in place.

In the meantime, Jae is facing a financial gap. He is currently under a lease through October 2026, with monthly rent of $450, and does not have the ability to cover basic housing costs right now.

We are asking for help to provide short-term stability while he continues treatment and while the proper supports (like case management and disability assistance) are being put into place.

This is not a long-term solution, but a bridge to help him (and Martin, his very important emotional support dog) stay housed and safe during a very vulnerable period.
