Hello all, my name is Jade, and I just recently came to California to give birth to my daughter 7 months ago. No places would hire me due to how close I was to my due date for my daughter, so I was out of work until June of 2025. The way the economy is right now, the job market is horrible. I've spent countless hours applying for jobs and waiting for callbacks after I called and left messages, just to hear they're not hiring or they've gone with someone else.
My family's living situation was bad up until September of 2025. We finally got our own place, and I've been working but with minimal hours. My fiancé is in the same boat, working and getting hours. We have a soon-to-be 8-month-old, and I am currently 3 months pregnant, due in June. We're trying to avoid being put out. I can't see my family being homeless, especially with a newborn. We have tried all of the resources they have given us, and they're saying the same thing: that they're at capacity with their funding and can't help, and don't know when they will have more funding to do so.
