It’s an amazing thing in today’s world that we have a platform like this to help each other in times of need. It’s also a shame that we have to have a platform like this. We all know how broken our healthcare system is and how expensive things can get in a crisis.

The cover photos below are of a case of severe scoliosis in Jaden. Jaden is a 17 year old autistic student in the 10th grade at Annville-Cleona, who truly needs us right now. His spine curvature went from 65° in May to 75° in August, so this issue is progressing rapidly.

His mom, Candy, is in a rough spot financially. Between doctor bills piling up, and her only vehicle in desperate need of repairs, we have been helping as much as we can.

Though her car runs, it is far from passing a PA state inspection. There is exhaust damage, both catalytic converters need replacing, and all new brakes, in addition to two front tires. Candy was pulled over on the way to one of Jaden’s doctor appointments due to the car being out of inspection and now is afraid to try to get him there again. They had set up an assisted ride and it never showed up, so l take them to appointments when I can, but it’s difficult with my job to always be there.

I’m creating this GoFundMe in the hopes that we can come together as a community and help them improve their circumstances. The vehicle needs repair, his doctor bills need paid, medical supplies are needed, and we need to give them hope for a better tomorrow.

Jaden’s father is not in the picture and is thousands of dollars behind on child support, which is being handled by the police department as best they can. Candy is fighting for disability for herself, and Jaden is going through major surgery to correct his severely curved spine on October 7th 2025.

Jaden has several appointments yet to go before surgery including a pulmonologist, a cardiologist, an orthopedic neurologist, and an extensive pre-op appointment. He will also need medical supplies for his recovery and physical therapy for months after he heals from surgery.

The surgeon has recommended that they do rods, plates, screws, and a bone graft to hold everything in place. the worst part is that this may not be the only surgery he has to endure in the next few years.
