Hi, my name is Francis Aparta, and I am humbly asking for support for my sister, Jade Aparta, as she faces another difficult battle with cancer.
Jade was first diagnosed with Stage IIA breast cancer (her2 positive/ aggressive type) in 2024. Through series of 13 chemotherapy cycles -> lumpectomy -> 30 radiation sessions -> and another 12 chemotherapy cycles, she fought courageously and completed her treatment. Our family remained hopeful that she had overcome the disease.
However, new scans revealed a mass (about 5.5 cm) in the right lobe of her liver. An ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy confirmed epithelial malignancy consistent with adenocarcinoma, and her PET scan and immunohistochemistry (IHC) report confirmed metastasis. Jade has now been diagnosed with Stage IV HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer involving the liver.
This news has been heartbreaking for our family.
During her previous treatments, we never asked for public help. With the support of family, close friends, her sorority sisters, and her colleagues, we managed to get through those difficult times. We were deeply grateful for every bit of assistance given.
Unfortunately, this time our financial resources are already exhausted. The ongoing tests, treatments, and hospital expenses are overwhelming, and we are struggling to keep up.
Jade’s oncologist has recommended an aggressive second-line targeted therapy using a new medication Enhertu (Trastuzumab Deruxtecan), a HER2-targeted treatment that delivers chemotherapy directly into cancer cells.
Below is the estimated treatment plan and cost breakdown:
Enhertu (Trastuzumab Deruxtecan)- 3 to 6 cycles prior to Surgery
• 4 vials per cycle (every 21 days)
• Cost per vial: ₱50K
• Estimated cost per cycle: ₱200K or $4,700 AUD
After the 3rd or 6th cycle, Jade will undergo another scans and if the tumor shrinks significantly, her Onco may recommend surgical removal of the liver tumor.
Possible Next Step: Liver Surgery
• Surgery cost may vary depending on hospital and procedure.
After surgery, Jade will likely continue HER2-targeted therapy maintenance using Enhertu to help prevent recurrence.
We are humbly reaching out and asking for any support you may be able to give for our bunso's second line of treatment. No amount is too small, every contribution will go directly toward her medical care. If you are unable to donate, sharing this message would also mean so much to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support. May God bless you for your generosity.
