Jade’s Journey to Fight Cancer

As some of you might already know, 3 years ago Jade was diagnosed with Grade 3 Astrocytoma. Since her diagnosis, she’s had craniotomy surgery and radiation/chemotherapy treatments. After completing her treatments in October 2022, she’s been going to quarterly MRI appointments where they have been monitoring the growth and spreading of the cancer cells.

In May, Jade received news that her scan showed significant growth from her previous MRI months before. She sought out a second opinion where they ultimately decided that another craniotomy surgery would be the best option. On June 11th, Jade underwent her second brain surgery where the tumor was removed and sent out for testing.

This week we have finally received the pathology report back and it wasn’t the news we were hoping for. Jade is now a Grade 4 Astrocytoma. 30% of the tissue removed was radiation necrosis and 70% is recurrent cancer.

Jade has multiple doctor’s appointments coming up within the next week to put together the best treatment plan for her. As of right now, she is potentially looking at another 6 weeks of radiation 5 days a week (if she qualifies as a candidate) and 12 months of chemotherapy.

Our main focus is Jade! Whatever she needs, whether it be love or support or space or a place to vent in order to make her the most comfortable during this 2nd cycle of treatment. We love her and want her on this earth as long as humanly possible! We are asking for ALL of your thoughts and prayers and hopes and positivity and any other good vibes you can send Jade’s way!!! She will need whatever she can get to help her stay strong during her fight with cancer.
