My name is Jade, and I am a stay-at-home mom facing one of the hardest moments of my life. My mother has stage 4 cancer and is now on hospice care, living with my 94-year-old grandmother in Mississippi. I haven’t seen my mom in 20 years—our last time together was before Hurricane Katrina. The thought of not being able to say goodbye or help her in her final days is heartbreaking. I miss her deeply, and I want nothing more than to be by her side and support both her and my grandmother during this incredibly difficult time.

My mom’s health has declined rapidly. She has a tracheotomy, which means she can’t speak and can only eat certain foods. Getting the right care and nutrition for her is a daily struggle, and my grandmother, at 94, needs help as well. I am hoping to raise enough to cover my travel to Mississippi, food, and the extra care my mom needs. Being there would allow me to help with her daily needs, provide comfort, and give my grandmother some much-needed support. Most importantly, it would give me the chance to make memories with my mom before it’s too late.
